The Magical Nights of the Benalmádena Cable Car

The Magical Nights of the Benalmádena Cable Car

The months of July and August the cable car of Benalmádena will transform in the evening to offer its summery Magical Nights where, besides its exclusive trip by cable car and spectacular views during the journey and at the top, you can enjoy the unique and different proposals, such as the outdoor Planetarium during the night-time from Monday to Friday, and the new Flamenco Show on Saturdays and Sundays. And, also, another high level proposal, such as the exhibition of birds of prey, which will be carried out late in the afternoon every day of July and August.

The outdoor Planetarium of the Cable Car of Benalmádena will offer to the visitors to “deeply explore” the sky of the Costa del Sol. The Astronomy program, directed by experts from the Aula del Cielo, with the collaboration of the Society of Astronomy of Malaga, will offer you to discover the sky of the Mediterranean night from the top of Mount Calamorro. From this unequalled enclave at 800 metres above sea level, you can observe and recognise, with the help of a group of astronomers, the Moon, stars, different galaxies, other planets, the “deep sky”, the constellations… And always with the exceptional backdrop of the sky on the Costa del Sol, a fascinating “world” over our own.

The Astronomy sessions will take place from Monday to Friday the months of July and August from 10 P.M. onwards. Each session will have a variable program, depending on the characteristics of the night. The astronomers, with the “help” of complex telescopes, projectors, screens… will teach you how it is and what can we see if we look at the sky in the darkness of the night. A sky that hides to the layman most of the mysteries which, in the summery nights, will be shown in the exclusive outdoor Planetarium from the top of the Cable Car of Benalmádena.

The proposal of the Cable Car of Benalmádena for the summer nights of Saturdays and Sundays is the Flamenco Show, an innovative proposal which brings together tradition and modernity. Flamenco Show is a varied show with classical instruments, such as the Spanish guitar, and other contemporary instruments, such as the electric piano, singing and different varieties of dancing, with festive sticks, such as tangos, rumbas and bulerias, and another more traditional and representative of the flamenco art, such as the flamenco Jondo.

Flamenco Show will start a 10 P.M. every Saturday and Sunday of July and August. The setting where the show will take place is the Plaza de la Cima, which has a background of exceptional beauty, such as is the Mediterranean sky and the coastline of the Mediterranean sea.
